Housing & Community Development Act Objectives
The City of Pensacola is eligible to receive funding under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. The act establishes as its primary objective the development of viable urban communities, including decent housing and a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunity, principally for persons of low and moderate income. This overall objective is achieved by the program's use of funds designated to projects that give maximum feasible priority to activities that will carry out one of the three national objectives:
Benefit to low- and moderate-income families
Aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blighted conditions
